Employee of the Month: Ehud Inbar

The Sanaria employee of the month for March 2021 is Ehud Inbar.  Ehud is a member of the Mosquito Production team, responsible for our molecular biology projects, using CRISPR-cas9 and other approaches, to genetically modify Anopheles mosquitoes and Plasmodium parasites, with the goal of improving PfSPZ manufacturing.

Ehud joined Sanaria to ostensibly to work on the Immune Deficient Mosquito grant, progressing a project that has been hampered by deficiencies in the stack of published literature upon which the grant was built. He has been invited to present the work at the ASTMH and has prepared and excellent paper for publication.  Ehud quickly became an integral player in mosquito production for manufacturing, but also has contributed to successful grant applications and is also leading the research in the conditional lethal mosquito grant.  Most recently, as part of Sanaria and Protein Potential’s other vaccine activities, he has laid down the foundational work on Ty21a-COVID-19 vaccine development.  All of this work and commitment is undertaken with a combined ‘can do’ approach tempered with the practicality of also knowing what cannot be done.  Ehud brings humor, attention to detail, and a gentle manner to his interactions at Sanaria

Ehud  attended the Israel Institute of Technology (Technion) and received his Ph.D. in Molecular Parasitology.  He received his M.S. in Environmental Microbiology and his B.S. in Plant Science from the Hebrew University. Ehud began at Sanaria in July 2018.
