Employee of the Month: Ian McWilliams

The Sanaria employee of the month for August, 2019 is Ian McWilliams.  Ian is a member of the mosquito and in vitro PfSPZ production team.

Ian has done an outstanding job towards developing a method for large scale production of PfSPZ in vitro (without the use of mosquitoes). A scalable method for PfSPZ in vitro will significantly reduce the cost of goods for Sanaria’s PfSPZ based vaccines. Ian joined Sanaria in April of 2018 as a Senior Research Associate and since then has consistently contributed to the manufacture of aseptic mosquitoes and production of PfSPZ products. Ian is very energetic, well-organized, detail oriented, and always reliable.  Ian sets a great team example by assisting other teams such as vaccine extraction team whenever he can by doing his work with an upbeat and positive attitude.

Ian received his Degree in Biology from Berry College, Georgia and his Masters in Public health from Tulane University.  We are pleased to recognize and congratulate Ian as Employee of the Month for his first-rate contributions to Sanaria operations.
