Employee of the Month: Urvashi Rai

Dr. Urvashi Rai is a scientist in the Department of Vaccine Extraction, Immunology and Models Systems (VIEMS). Urvashi was nominated for employee of the month to recognize her dedication in training the part-time vaccine extraction specialists. She screened many resumes, interviewed potential applicants, and hired promising candidates. Urvashi has currently trained more than 20 Vaccine Extraction Specialists who previously had little or no experience with the GMP manufacturing processes. She made sure her team knew the importance of the job and proper techniques to be successful in the extraction of the vaccine. Urvashi competently assessed the process of each individual and modified the training to suit each individuals pace. Her patience and continued hard work have allowed Sanaria’s production days to run more efficiently. Urvashi gained her PhD in Cell Biology from Case Western Reserve University and her MS from New York University where she first became interested in malaria.  Urvashi has been with Sanaria since March 2018.
