United to Beat Malaria and Shot@Life Delegation Visit Sanaria

Sanaria was delighted to welcome (on Thursday 28 July 2022) a team from the United Nations Foundation led by United to Beat Malaria’s Executive Director, Margaret Reilly McDonnell and Shot@Life’s Director Cara Ciullo for a fact-finding visit to the Clinical Manufacturing Facility and Research Laboratories. United to Beat Malaria and Shot @Life are two organizations raising awareness and advocating at many levels for control and eventual elimination of malaria and for the improved efficacy and coverage of childhood vaccines, respectively. Sanaria is the only company in the DC metro area dedicated to the research, development, licensure, and deployment of a vaccine to prevent malaria infection in all age groups, so their work is of great interest to both organizations.  The visit was a timely reminder of the desperate need for improved tools of malaria and for improved awareness of the long and difficult path to license a vaccine against such a complex parasite.
