Employees of the Month: Mei-Chun Chen and Ramon Dizon Jr.

The Sanaria employees of the month for October 2022 are Mei-Chun Chen and Ramon Dizon Jr.. Mei is a member of the clinical team at Sanaria, responsible for managing trial master files and ensuring that documentation for Sanaria’s clinical studies are in compliance. Ramon is a member of the Materials Management team, responsible for receiving, inspecting, storing, and dispositioning all materials in compliance with Sanaria’s SOPs.

Mei has been with Sanaria since March 2017 and in the past five and a half years she has contributed immeasurably to the success of our company. Based on superb performance, Mei has risen from her starting position as Clinical Research Associate to Clinical Research Manager to Senior Clinical Research Manager.  To place this expansion of responsibilities in perspective, Mei’s primary job when starting at Sanaria was to share with another employee the work of maintaining our Trial Master Files (TMFs) under the supervision of Elizabeth Saverino. Now her responsibilities extend far past the TMFs; in essence, Mei’s responsibilities involve just about everything of importance in the day-to-day activities of the Clinical Trials Department.  She keeps our entire department organized, making sure tasks are completed and deadlines are met.  She has identified new service providers, such as data management companies and monitoring companies and has a record of saving Sanaria many hundreds of thousands of dollars based on the quality and cost efficiency associated with the companies she selects. She also contributes immensely to our esprit de corps: Mei is a delight to work with – always smiling, cheerful, organized, polite, patient and kind.

Ramon provides an essential service to Sanaria that occurs in the deep recesses of Sanaria’s basement where he manages, single handedly, the Receiving and Materials Management operations (with help from Faith in Procurement). This position has been occupied by Bruce and, most recently, Chuong, but during their tenures they were not the only members of Materials Management. Ramon has taken over, as far as I can
tell, all the operations. And he performs his duties competently, expeditiously and with a smile, always pleasant, always willing to help and a joy to work with. With his office and storage facilities in the basement it is too easy to be out of sight and out of mind. Ramon is always ready to learn something new and takes great pleasure in working with other teams, especially the Cryo Team who has multiple incoming clinical trial shipments that are processed by Ramon during each month.

Mei holds a MS and BS from the National Cheng Kung University of Taiwan in Microbiology and Immunology, and Medical Laboratory Science and Biotechnology. Mei joined Sanaria in March, 2017. Ramon has a Bachelors of Science in Accountancy and began at Sanaria in January 2022.
