Employee of the Month: Diana Perez
The Sanaria employee of the month for May 2023 is Diana Perez. Diana is a member of the Vaccine Stabilization and Logistics team, responsible for ensuring the preservation of the vaccine and its distribution to clinical trial sites around the world. Almost 2 years ago the issue of vial inspection for particulates appeared on the radar, and Diana volunteered to take on the responsibility of setting up the process of inspections. Actually, she more than volunteered, she requested. She did a great job and wrote the SOP for Si02 vial inspections. More recently, the issue of particulates has taken on heightened prominence and become considerably more complex. The need for
inspections for particulates has expanded to Matrix vials, and in addition to inspections of vials and caps before filling, now includes the inspection of Final Product post filling and cryopreservation and of diluent vials and of diluent post filling. Diana has piloted the development of the different methods required to inspect these different components and products and has assembled equipment, written SOPs
and trained personnel. Inspections now involve many people from different departments and are coordinated by QA. On this motherboard of components there is one central processor and that is Diana. This is in acknowledgement of her continued engagement with the particulates issue, her tenacity and innovation in helping to solve an issue of considerable significance and importance to Sanaria.
Diana attended the University of Maryland and studied Biology. Diana began at Sanaria in the Spring of 2020.
