Employee of the Month: Morgan Douglas

The Sanaria employee of the month for September 2022 is Morgan Douglas. Morgan is a member of the Mosquito Production team, responsible for leading aseptic production of mosquitoes and providing support for bioreactor/egg cryopreservation research grants. In recent months, Morgan have taken additional responsibilities as the point person for aseptic mosquito production, took more responsibilities in research activities to semi-automate aseptic mosquito production using the newly designed bioreactor container. She is taking a lead role in optimizing the aseptic mosquito culture conditions in this closed system which would reduce the cost of goods for the manufacture of PfSPZ products. Another research project she is pursuing is the culture of cryopreserved mosquito eggs to adult mosquitoes and to compare their growth profiles with that of the parental colonies. Morgan’s nomination for this award is also because of her unwavering dedication to Sanaria’s cause, crowned by her exemplary work ethic. Morgan is a dependable and responsible coworker and we can always count on her to complete the jobs she has been given. 

Morgan attended Goucher College and received her Bachelors in Environmental Science and got Entomology training  at USDA Appalachian Fruit Research Station, Kearneysville, WV.   Morgan always approaches the job and her team mates with positive and kind attitude.  She is a joy to work with. . Morgan began at Sanaria in November of 2019.
