Employee of the Month: Tales Pascini

The Sanaria employee of the month for April 2023 is Tales Pascini. Tales is the Director of the Mosquito Production team, responsible for coordinating the manufacturing of aseptic mosquitoes for PfSPZ production, and non-aseptic mosquitoes for a variety of projects. His team is focused on vector and parasite biology, and its translation for PfSPZ vaccine production. Tales has only been with Sanaria for a short time but has moved seamlessly into his new role, bringing energy and enthusiasm to learn everything about mosquito production at great speed.  He has learned all the intricacies of the very complex mosquito manufacturing process, gotten to know a large team, figured out the relationships of our matrix structure and upped his QA game.  Tales has owned all of this and more, willingly taking the lead on the mosquito bioreactor project, contributing significantly to the egg cryo work, and using his relationship with former colleagues to ensure we have excellent confocal microscopy images for the in vitro sporozoite work. 

He has already had significant input into grant applications and will be working close with the team on the forthcoming R01 application.  Tales has fitted in so well at Sanaria and it is a pleasure to recognize his flying start with this nomination for Employee of the Month for April 2023.

Tales attended the Federal University of Vicosa (Brazil) and got his bachelors in Biological Sciences, Masters in Entomology, and Ph.D. in Cell and Structural Biology Tales began at Sanaria in January 2023.
